Birds Nests

This photo was taken by Krupa Nanda. She says “My husband took this photo during our visit to the Sapda temple near Jamnagar, Gujarat. The temple authorities have hung these beatiful nest pots for birds. It is a way to provide nesting sites for the birds, lay their eggs, and raise their young. The hollow shape serves as a cozy nesting chamber for the birds. These nests are often made from clay and designed to hang from trees or buildings, creating a safe and secure environment for birds. The hanging bird pot nests are typically handmade by locals who have mastered the art of pottery. We also have one such hanging pot in our garden area!”
