About WPPhotos

The WPPhotos project is part of the Make.WordPress.org site. It has two primary websites, one is the presentation and submission area, and the other is the contributor blog and resources. WPPhotos serves as a community contribution point for the Openverse project. Anyone with an account on WordPress.org may contribute Creative Commons Zero (CC0) photos.

With the combined efforts of the the entire WordPress community we can build a wonderful resource of photos, free for anyone to use on any site anywhere.

About This Site

Some of the photos on the WPPhotos site are absolutely gorgeous, or intriguing, but have very little description. We wanted to know more. To find out why the photo was taken, or where, and when. Just like HeroPress tells the stories of the people of WordPress, this site tells the stories behind the photos of WordPress.
