Black Sea Sunrise
Description
This photo was taken by Nick Krastev. I asked him to tell me about it and here’s what he said.
From late spring to early autumn, I try to be at the seaside – my work is quite busy and the long hours in front of the monitor are exhausting, so at every convenient opportunity I position myself near the beach, where I can look at the sea, feel the sea breeze and I walk barefoot on the fine sand. In the summer, I travel along the entire length of the southern Black Sea coast in Bulgaria, I meet friends and colleagues, and apart from working together during the day, we also know how to have fun in the evening.
I took the particular photo at sunrise on the shore of the Kavatsi campsite, which is located near Sozopol, a small ancient resort town in Bulgaria with a thousand-year history. While the town itself is a magnet for tourists, there are dozens of small coves in the area that are home to sea lovers like me, including local fishermen stocking the harbor stalls with fresh fish. After such views in the morning and a 5-10 kilometer cross on the wet sand, the day starts with an extra dose of energy and positivity!
